FixRombo
--------
If you've got a Rombo Megamix Master, you'll be impressed and amazed at how
samples saved from it manage not to work with any other sample software in
the entire universe.
So this here program fixes that problem so you can use MM samples with things
like Audio Master, Octamed, etc...
It needs Kickstart 2 or above.
Installing it
-------------
Drag the icon in the C drawer to your own C: drawer.
Using it
--------
You have to use the shell, but it's not that difficult.
All you have to do is CD to the directory which the sample is in and type
this...
fixrombo <samplename>
If you want to sort out an entire sample directory, CD to the directory and
type this...
run list all files to pipe: lformat "fixrombo %p%n"
execute pipe:
Extra stuff
-----------
Stereo samples are saved with the wrong frequency. But it I couldn't fix this
'cos it depends what the sample was saved from and what it's being loaded
into.
- If you load a MM sample into any other kind of sample software, halve the
sample frequency.
- If you load a sample from any other kind of sample software into MM, double
the sample frequency.
Don't use upsample, downsample, or resample because those change the sample
itself.
Boring wibble
-------------
This is copyrighted by me but freely distributible. It shouldn't be altered
in any way and you should only charge for disks, postage, or packing if you
charge anything.
And it can't be used as part of anything that's sold for profit without my
say so, although the chances of that are fairly remote, I think. Oh, that
means cover CDs and disks on those glossy magazines as well.
My Email address is CM-D.J.CANNON@tees.ac.uk, but only until June.
Ciao,
